cPanel is a feature rich hosting control panel below is a description of the number of tools provided.

  Mail

This area of cPanel allows you to:

• Access webmail
• Add & Remove Accounts
• Set the default address
• Set-up Autoresponders
• Create email filters
• Forward email to another address
• Create Mailing Lists
• Setup Spam Assassin
• Trace an Email address
• Modify the MX entry

 

Mail

This area of cPanel allows you to:

• Access webmail
• Add & Remove Accounts

Webmail

Gives you direct access to web mail with choice of 3 web based mail clients:

• Horde
• Squirelmail
• NeoMail

Note: to log into web mail other than your default address use the url http://domain.com/webmail.

Change Password

To change your password used to log into cPanel.

Parked Domains

Parked domains point to your current website, and are useful if you have different variations of your domain name.

Add-on Domains

Add-on domains can be use to create a new website, they use the allocated disk space and bandwidth of you main domains account.

FTP Manager

The FTP manager allows you too:

• Control FTP accounts for the main domain and sub domains
• Control Anonymous FTP, you may allow uploads
• Edit the Anynomus FTP login message
• Disconnect current FTP session

File Manager

This web based file manager allows uploading and deleting files, as well as changing file permissions.

Disk Usage

View the disk space each area of your account is currently using.

Backup

Perform backups and restores of your website and databases. Is is reccomened to do home directory and database backups seperately, instead using the full backup.

Password Protect Directories

Protect a directory by using this password protect feature.

Error Pages

Customise the look of your 400, 401, 402, 404, 405 error pages.

Subdomains

Create and delete subdomains. These look like www.subdomain.domainname.com.

MySql

Create MySql databases and access phpMyAdmin to manage the databases created.

Redirects

Set-up redirections to point to another website.

Frontpage

Install Microsoft Frontpage extensions to make use of Frontpages features.

Web & FTP Stats

View visitor statistics for you main domain and subdomains using Webalizer or Awstats.

Other Features include:

• Show the last 300 visitors and information
• View the bandwidth usage
• View error logs

Raw Access Logs

Download your raw access logs, useful for processing statistics in other programs.

Raw Log Manager

Archive and backup your access logs daily in your home directory.

Error Log

View the past 300 error messages, useful for debugging scripts and determining hacker attempts.

Subdomain Stats

View your visitors information to subdomains in either Webalizer or Awstats.

Chatroom

Setup and access a java based chatroom

phpMyChat

Setup a php and mySql based chatroom

Bulletin Board

Setup phpBB, a php and mySql based bulletin board

CGI Center

Setup a number of free scripts including:

Simple CGI Wrapper: This is a CGI Wrapper that will allow you to run CGI Scripts with your User ID.

Random HTML: This is a Random HTML generator. It picks a string of HTML code from a list and inserts it in an SSI (Server Side Includes) enabled web page.

Simple GuestBook: This is a just a simple guestbook for your visitors to view and sign.

Advanced GuestBook: This is a more advanced guestbook written in PHP and MySQL.

Counter: You can create a counter to count and show how many visitors have been to your site.

Clock: This utility will create a real time java clock for your site.

Countdown: You can create a countdown box to countdown to a specified date.

CGI EMail: CGI Email takes the input of an HTML form and converts it to an email format defined by the author of the form.

FormMail Clone : FormMail-clone is a clone of Matt Wright’s FormMail.

Entropy Search : Setup Search Engine

Entropy Banner: This feature allows you to create rotating banner ads for your site

Index Manager

The index manager will allow you to turn indexes on or off for a directory. If indexes are off, people will not be able to see what files are in a directory that lacks an index file.

IP Deny Manager

This feature will allow you to block a range of IP addresses to prevent them from accessing your site. You can also enter an fully qualified domain name, and the Ip Deny Manager will attempt to resolve it to an ip address for you.
